Today is Mother's Day.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing for you?

Haven't talked to the mom since 2002 and she lives 2 miles away.

...on the other hand my wife is now a new mother and I have reason to celebrate again. First time I bought a card and actually wanted to write something special in it.

Have you ever noticed how crayons are a lot like M&M's? All the colors tend to taste the same.

I think I'm going to make breakfast for my wife, and give my mom a ring later on.

BAD BAD BAD....

My mom lives about 20 minutes away and I just cant talk to her anymore. She is either bi-polar or has a personality disorder (depending which doctor you listen to) and shes been verbally abusive probably for my whole life, but it got really bad over the last 3-4 years. First time I had 'had enough' I stoped talking to her for about 9 months. First time I saw her was ON Christmas with my uncle, grandfather and grandmother there. She treated everyone like assholes and I didnt talk to her for another few moths until she apologized and said 'it will never happen again'.

Well... surprise, surprise... last October I went to see her really upset about something and she pulled the same shit making everything about her. So I saw her on October 8th last year and I havent seen or talked to her since.

I hear all about it because I talk to my grandmother (her mom) all the time and my grandmother has to do like 90% of things for her because of her 'illness' and her back problems. My mom is 56, on disability and lives in a highrise with 99% elderly people. My grandmother drives her everwhere because my mom sold her car because she was so broke. Even though my grandma does everything for my mom, my mom is still rude or mean to her and my grandma goes home upset half the time when they go out together but keeps going back for more because its her daughter.

Yah.... Mothers day sucks this year. I think until I have a solid relationship, even if its not a marrige yet and theres not a kid yet, it will suck. Once I have that I can consider the girl to be my future then I can probably enjoy it for/with her like Clevo.

Sorry for that big downer! I didnt mean for it to be that long, but sometimes it feels good to vent. Thanks guys & Happy Mothers Day to RomanticViolence and to all your wives!

Yep a good thing here. Mrs. Reed83 gets a whole Weekend (including Thursday night) out of it. We have a few family get togethers, gifts and funs tuff planned. She isn't privy to all of it.

Now it's Monday, we had a blast and she was very appreciative. She is the glue that holds the Reed83 family together. She deserves the best.

My mom passed away when i was 17 so Mothers day isn't the best one for me but my brothers always take it much harder than I do. I find it just hits me on the typical day when I think about how happy she'd be about how her 3 boys turned out.
