My roommate read the book and wasnt disapointed in the movie. She said that they chaged a few things, but that they didnt cheeze out on anything big that she thought they might.

i don't read, but the movie looks intriguing.

www.newdawnmagazine.com New Dawn has a Special Issue No. 2 about the Da Vinci Code movie & the book. Examines all sorts of shit like Mary Magdalene, Opus Dei, Knights Templar, the code & whats next for Brown.

Dunno if you can get it in North America but look around. The site hasn't got anything about the special issue listed yet. Might try to scan it one of these days, don't hold your breath though.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

I generally avoid anything that has as much hype as the book did, but somebody loaned it to me right when I finished another book and it was actually pretty good. I love history, so it was cool to have a bit of that stuff thrown into it. I still think it's ridiculous that people got as wrapped up in this as they did. It's fiction with a bit of history and a lot of conspiracy theory thrown in. Yes, it takes a good shot at the church by portraying Jesus as a human and not necessarily the infallible God On Earth that he is supposed to be in christian mythology. I'm vaguely interested in seeing the movie, but I really haven't been able to stand Tom Hanks in a very long time and can't picture him in this role. If there's a crowd of Jesus Freaks protesting I'll probably go just to piss 'em off, but we'll see what happens.

The movie and book were written as fiction. I dont know why people are freeking out so bad about it!

It made over $200,000,000 world wide in its first weekend!

The film looks great. I doubt I'll go to the Theatre to see it though. I want to believe it is true but common sense tells me is it a "No Go". I find it really interesting.

i want to see it but will wait for the crowded theatre hype to blow over, I hate sitting next to jerk offs at the pictures. I really want to see X-Men next weekend and may brave the matinee on opening day if I can swing it.
