sorry i've been mia.

we bought our first house last wednesday, then had a wedding and an engagement party in nyc last weekend. taping off trim so you can paint sucks. plus, with the 7" of rain we've had in the past three days, i've got water in my brand new basement. i don't expect it to happen often, but it's a crapy way to get to know your new digs.

Word, good luck with everything. Me and my girl just got a house in November and the whole thing is so stressfull an a huge pain in the ass. Trust me I know about painting, it fucking sucks. I'm lazy and have only painted the family room/dining room so far and the upstairs all needs to be redone. Fuck I wish I had money to have someone do it like a rich person. We have a nice basement with knotted pine wall stuff an a faux fireplace that I have to clean up lay carpet in etc. etc. etc. Good luck again, but just get to the realalization that it's never finished. You'll be less stressed that way.

Congratulations on the house Duane!
If you didn?t live so far away I would send some of our people to paint your house for you.
I?m sorry to hear about your basement getting flooded. Is it a finished or unfinished basement?
I bet you little girl loves the yard! You should post some pictures up soon.

My house should be done soon... I?ll put some pictures up for you guys.

thanks everyone. after years of saving in nyc and watching prices continue to skyrocket, we left town. fuck it. a two bedroom apt in our old neighborhood couldn't be had for less than $600,000. haven't moved in to the new place yet - doing the painting and some kitchen work now - so there wasn't anything in the basement. fortunately, it's just a little leak, and not an actual flood.
