Ummmm this is going to be good. Could it be that finally big media will finally get it right on what punk/ hardcore was all about? I have no idea who the people are that are doing this but it looks like they know what its about and SONY is backing it up. I am siked.

Did anyone notice while Rollins was talking about fights that dude was wailing on someone something fierce? I bet he had a headache after that.

i just hope it doesn't follow the same path as the "Dogtown and Z Boys" (released in 2002. a proper, quality documentary) and "Lords of Dogtown" (released in 2005. a crap attempt by hollywood to capatialize on a trend) fiasco.

who would star as ian mackaye in the hollywood version?

I can't fucking wait to see this. I'm going to try and get tickets for this when it plays at the Toronto film festival. DOA is doing a short set before or after the movie, can't remember which.

Stacy P sold his identity to the LOD movie before he started making the documentary....
he decided to do it after he got a look at the script and wanted the story told the right way....

this does look good, and might educate some of the people today who call themselves hardcore....

I also hope they don't dwell too much on the violence in the scene back then vs. the postivie aspects of the scene.

I am afraid they might use the violence to sell tickets....
and while it was a big part of what was going on, there was so much more to it then that

rollins wasnt always the cool calm collected greying dude you see these days. from reading stuff about his early days that guy had to fight constantly. it was a hard lifestyle back then. not just posing to be hard.

.Black Flag were one of the originators of hardcore. I don't think that can be disputed.
