THE GOON......Man, Eric Powell is one funny dude, and it has that old Tales from the Crypt kind of horror feel to it, not to mention the artwork is
amazing!!!!!!!
Hellboy.........when Mike Mignola is doing it.
Doc Frankenstein, from the guys who did the matrix movies. They took their newfound riches and did what they always wanted to do,started a comic book
company. This is one of the books they write and this guy Steve Skroce (sp?) does the artwork, it's brilliant in both aspects and gives a nice twist
to one of the oldest horror stories in print.
I have thumbed through the Texas chainsaw massacre, but it's based on the Bynarski leatherface, I think I will buy it though and keep up, it seemed
good, the art was rad and the gore was right there. I also want to check out the Walking Dead a little more, i just found a decent comic shop close to
me and have recently gotten back into some books. As far as back issues, oh man.......I have alot of the popular Marvel titles, X-men, Wolverine,
X-factor, Spiderman I have thousands, and my parents didnt throw em out on me when I left home, they kept em in my old room for me. I have slowly been
moving the collection to Virginia from maine with me. I still love anything sam kieth does, as well as Faust with artwork by Tim Vigil, that series
will never leave my collection. I could talk comics for hours on end.

DOC FRANKENSTEIN sounds interesting. I dont think Ive seen that yet, but Ill have to check it out.
The Texas Chainsaw books are based on the newer story line, but they are still pretty good.

Doc Frankenstein is rad, I think you would dig it Honus. It delves into this religious conspiracy in true Wachowski brothers fashion with smaller
stories all wrapped into one grand story unfolding. Basically it stays true to the creation of frankensteins Monster and then takes it in a new
direction from there. The monster is basically a hero helping others and such but seen as an abomination by this Orwellian style religious right kinda
group and therefore is constantly hunted by them. very good read and the art is spectacular. i can't rave enough about this book, and The Goon, they
got me excited about comics again.

if you do anything good for yourself in the next few days, it will be to pick an issue of this up and read it. It is so full of hilarious sarcasm and
pulp horror humor, it just goes beyond anything I have seen in comics for a long time. lets put it this way, they just released issue # 18 and the
story in it was not the creators original story intention, some "christian" group got wind of his original story idea and convinced a whole slew of
comic shops to agree not to carry his book if he released the story. All I know is it has something to do with Satan sodomizing some hillbilly and
then the ass demon baby the hillbilly has after the fact. The story he did release is a riot in itself and he uses every chance he gets to reference
the story he was supposed to print in it. You HAVE to check out the Goon Honus, do it.

Be careful though, when you fall in love with the book (and you will) you will go nuts hunting down back issues to get the whole story. Luckily, they
have trade paperbacks to cover the series so far, but youre like me, you want the real deal, and that means hunting down back issues.

I'm trying to get ahold of some of the classic Mirage Studios TMNT collections.
I've also been reading some old X-Men stuff of late.
How is Civil War going Dave?

civil war isnt too bed i'm more interested in what the hell their going to do next to the marvil universe.
the goon is a must read, i'm only missing 3 issues now from the current series.
the walking dead is awesome, read this book but you have to start at the begginning, pick up the trades.
DMZ, is awesome too, Manhatten island as a war zone, following a reporter that goes in to cover the story, great stuff.
oh man, as for back issues i've gone nuts the past few weeks, probably picked up like 10 amazing spider-man's below 100.
a batman 76
detective 292
3 or 4 50's EC comics
and a few "Canadian Whites". awesome!
