Hockey Fans...
So, I stop by my localing water hole and bam a man named Larry Zeidel (sp?) is chillin there. This guy is about or 70's early 80's. Turns out, he
played for the original first year Flyers (*1967) fucking nicest guy I've ever met in my life. Wrote me a personalized letter and everything. Is on
the cup in 52' with the Redwings and back when the kept a +/- with defensive men had a +17! Seriously, awsome awsome nice guy. Still there an kicking
at his age. After he explained to me what he wrote on the letter (almost a full 6x9 notebook page) he fucking checked me out of my chair!!!!
from the letter:
"offense wins games"
"defense wins CHAMPIONCHIPS"
for a Philly kid this is seriously to good to believe.
\"Leave the gun....take the canolis.\"

This is awesome..... OLDE TYME HOCKEY!!!
"After breaking their sticks on each other, they continued to attack with the splintered shafts in a bloody brawl that left each with forty stitches.
'Evans hacked me,' remembers Zeidel, 'but I hung in there and battled him. He could'nt put me away. I was swinging and missing. He was swinging and
hitting. He carved me up!" (a recounting of a minor league brawl between Jack Evans, and future Hershey Bear tough guy -- Larry "The Rock" Zeidel)

I used to work for Frank Bathe of Philly Flyers defensive fame back in the day. He owns a gas station in South portland, Maine and I was a register
lacky for him. Real nice guy, had some cool hockey stories and a real brawler as well. He played when helmets were optional and he opted not to wear
one. Surprisingly he dosent look too beat up these days.
