He wasn't rich when he wrote a lot of his stuff. Also, his blue collar lyrics are a lot more realistic than many of those coming out of the
hardcore/punk scene.
‘Do you know what a love letter is? It’s a bullet from a fucking gun. Straight through your heart.’

Anything off NEBRASKA, THE RIVER, hell I even like his newer stuff but what do I know. Seriously Discipline and Vibes is right. He was more HARDCORE
than many of the bands could ever hope to be. Springsteen struggled like a mother back in the day. He got fucked over by labels and worked his ass off
to get were he is. Springsteen wrote lyrics that punch you in the face and make you ask for seconds.
I am not saying he is the best writer. None of us can attest that, but I will say he is a legend in his own right. His mid to late eighteis stuff is a
little glossy but his mid nineties to now are great.

Not many songs can change a mood like Springsteen.
Its like putting in BLOOD FOR BLOOD- spit my last breath, SHEER TERROR- love songs for the unloved, SICK OF IT ALL- anything, MURPHYS LAW- anything, 7
SECONDS- anything, SLAYER- anything, THE ACCUSED- martha spatterheads maddest stories or ROLLINS BAND- (do it). That shit jsut makes me feel
something. Wether its anger, laughter, depression, motivated. It does something. Springsteen is the same way. Its like listening to Pink Floyd-
darkside.. I just chill out or at least feel a little mello.

Not a fan, but I will agree he can write a moving song, he's from the heart at any rate. I would almost liken him to a modern day Johnny Cash in that
he's the working man's troubadour. I do like that song "I had a wife, I had a home, I had somethin goin' mister in this world...." I don't know the
name though, maybe Downbound Train? I think that's the chorus.
Well, its this place where nobody works, and the pigs don\'t give you any shit. Everyone smokes weed and gets drunk all day. Its a place where
cunts like me and you can truly take it easy and relax. Know what I mean?

I'm not really into The Boss's voice... but other than that, the dude has written some great tunes... and frankly, to hear Cash do a few is
mind-blowing.
