I need some help with this SOULSEEK issue

this is what I see. I see no list of music, bands, downloads, or anything resenbling a way to get music. PLEASE. ANYONE. Let me know what i need to do to get/ find some music to DL. I am not using this as an avenue to steal music. I am using this to find out of new bands. I am an avid collector of cd's and used to be vinyl. I just want ot hear some shit that I can't get and new stuff I might.

Download & install the actual Soulseek program :)

And visit http://faq.slsknet.org/index.php?action=artikel&id=631 for FAQ/issues on the latest 156c release. Specifically for program compatibility issues.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

If they're just queued than you have to set your downloads higher.

When you are connected, just click on search for something your interested in. Whatever comes up when you search, only the songs listed in black letttering are available at that time. The grey and red are useless.

I get downloads all the time off grey titles. and I exclusively use soulseek to steal music and have my own releases up for download as well.

Right click in the Chat Rooms area & Create a room. Then type Thorp Records

We should have a room haha. I'll idle in there now cuz I'm going to bed.

The songs arent appearing in soulseek any longer because you already downloaded them, so they have no reason to be in the que like the other songs that are still in there because you havent had them download yet.

You need to check the settings in soulseek and see where your download folder is, odds are right now you dont have a specific folder set and right now your entire computers contects are viewable for anyone that wants to download them. Best thing to do is make a folder on your desktop called soulseek and then set that up in your settings to be the ONLY folder than people can download from you at as well and the only folder you download into.

You can un-check the auto clear for finished tracks.
Also if you right click on the songs in your list you can get place in line, will say how many files are before yours in the que.

The only problem I have with Soulseek is that it freezes my fuckin' old ass computer everytime I use it.

Clevo... dude, whenever you find someone with some tunes you like... right click on them and click "browse user files" or "browse files" and you can look at everything those people are sharing. Pretty awesome.

click the [file sharing] button next to the [search files] button. this brings up a small window, and in the middle, you can see what folders are shared.

i think it defaults to [my music] in [my documents] on your C drive. if it doesn't, just make a new folder called [soulseek] and make that the shared AND the save destination.
