yup, dave grohl rules.
our frinds on the ducky boys board pointed out this article:
Grohl's drunken promise
LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl wants to get drunk with two Australian miners who listened to his band while trapped
underground.
The rocker has revealed he plans to meet up with the survivors when the band tours the country in October.
Grohl, 37, said on Thursday (31.08.06): "You know what? I'm not just having one beer with those dudes - we're going for it. It is going to be a big
night."
The musician was touched when he found out Brant Webb and Todd Russell - who spent two weeks trapped underground when the mine they were working in at
Beaconsfield, in Tasmania, collapsed in May - kept their spirits up by listening to his songs on their mp3 players.
Since their rescue, the two men have become celebrities in their own right in Australia.
Responding to Grohl's offer, their manager Sean Anderson, said: "I'm sure they will be very keen to meet him."

I think its cool that Dave is respected in so many circles. He is a guy who would be doing what he's doing even if he wasn't rich. He seems to be a
real musician who honestly wants to be in the studio constantly.

Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

they did some behind the scenes thing a few years back with the foo fighters and dave went out to a bar and sang his own stuff on kareoke and then was
laid up on the tour bus the next day, possibly having a little too much fun. gotta love someone who can be almost normal even with lots of fame and
money

Care to elaborate? or is he a douche for no reason?
He obviously is down to earth enough to do somthing like that for people that went through some shit and even though most of that probot shit sucked,
he still used his name to bring a lot of older bands to the attention of a newer generation.

Hahaha these guys were the news while underground & about 1-2 weeks after they surfaced. Now if you say their name, people wouldn't know who they
were hahahaha. Nobody even knows the name of the 3rd guy who was in the mine because he got crushed by the rocks & died.
One dude requested country on his iPod & the other Foo Fighters, and Grohl thought that ruled & made sure he had the whole catalogue of their shit I
think.
The dudes got millions for their 2 hour story on TV here, plus they went to NBC or ABC there and did morning shows & shit. Oprah wanted them too
hahaha but I don't know if they went on. I think they got the same agent as some other high roller sport stars & celebs here haha. Big bucks.
The mine has laid off a bunch of people too and Todd Russell was one of them because he refuses to go back underground now.
A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s
a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal
favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

PS: Dave Grohl ruled when he said the best drink in the world was Crown Royal & Coke. Can't fucking beat the CR!
