TURTLES

my son's mom got him this turtle
a red spotted something or other
has the potential to get real big
and live for up to 60 years.
i am kind of confused how she is going to "store" this thing after it gets bigger
imagine that
a fuckin pet that has the potential to outlive me.
crazy
any of yous have turtles?
besides the action figures.....

We have a few of each:

Eastern box turtle
Painter turtle
Pond slider turtle

We found these in the creek behind the house.
We built a giant wooden "Turtle house" that i let my son put his reptiles in.

Have you ever noticed how crayons are a lot like M&M's? All the colors tend to taste the same.

i used to have a terapin. had it till it was like seven years old. i had to give it away to some guy who had a bigger tank for it. wanted it for breeding i think. terapins can get really smelly (the tank) and you have to change the water like every week. handling them and not washing your hands can also spread salmonela as its found nautrally in there skin. it was also the time my wife was havin our first child so that was prob the reason why it had to go.
ive been looking at maybe getting a tortoise, and i think they live till there 80 years old or so.
