ramallah/unseen show last night

just writing to give my two cents on last nights opening show for ramallah and unseen... I must say that the crowd was bigger than I expected for a Tuesday night, I'd say about 150-200. It was definitely a punk crowd which obviously makes sense given the lineup. I was curious how they would react to Ramallah because their more hardcore/metal than punk. First we had a local group called public aggrivation who played a good mix of straight ahead punk and also some nice heavy breakdowns to get everyone involved. They did a nice cover of Eric Claptons "Leyla" or however you spell it. Next was Brain Failure who I am just learning about now. They were really energetic and playing off the crowd as good as they could given their trouble with the English language. Everytime the singer would speak to the crowd between songs it would be very difficult to understand but he was trying and I give them credit. The whole evening really had a good vibe to it. Lots of sing alongs and pits with kids running and dancing together rather than to kill each other. I was really there to see Ramallah and they really did as good as possible given the situation...let me explain...maybe someone else knows for sure but I think Rob was under the weather cuz' he made reference to his voice and also of all the bands, their set was the shortest by far. Maybe something else was going on but he just didn't seem happy and wasn't making his usual rants about whatever...but as far as the performance, they killed it!! The pit was much more aggressive and intense, they played most all of but a whimper... and debuted the title song from kill a celebrity, and to me it seemed more energetic, heavier, big breakdowns and a really cool intro of rob talking quickly, seems he was referencing mtv,trl and the vma's so obviously its a shot at the big stars we've all come to despise. Robs band is great, the whole band is really tight and they were really going off. Its kind of weird to see Rob without a guitar in hand and maybe thats what threw me off about his demeanor last night...who knows, but they still tore it up. And sorry to all unseen fans I just don't really like alot of punk like that but I will say there were some great sing alongs and crowd participation, I just am not into it, any questions or whatever drop me a post here, thanks

the more i think about, ramallah's set wasnt SHORT, it just seemed like everyone else including the local support got a chance to play more songs, i mean, ramallah played basically the whole album , minus the interludes and the acoustic last song, plus the b side from the vinyl version, and the new song, so that is a pretty full set, it just seemed really quick, but so are the songs....so no criticism, rob is the man and i hope whether he was sick or cuz it was the first night, everything goes well on the tour...hope to see them again soon...
