Empire Falls
I like this band. It's funny though, because I'm always curious about them. I've seen them on show flyers playing with nazi and RAC bands, but I've
also seen them on flyers playing with anti-racist bands. Anybody know much about these guys?

Its the SAME exact band. Maybe a couple different backup band members but the same core guy is there.

yep,it's the same band...I know the former bass player (who is now the drummer for a band called The Flat Tires). They used to play straight up
hardcore, but later played a more Oi style street punk. They are a really good live band...not sure if their still together or not.
As far as being a racist band...I don't know about that.

Well I stand corected, but never would have guessed that those were the same bands. You can go onto any white power distro site and find a complete
list of their albums. They went from straight edge hardcore to total right wing working class oi. Hmmmm odd.
When they were a hardcore band they also had a split out with One Life Crew.

I know the singer is the main guy in Better Dead Than Red. I just found it odd to see Empire Falls on the Warzone tribute cd, and on bills with
anti-racist bands. Although those shows were a long time ago, maybe they've changed their tune.

They've went through several different phases over the past 10 years or so. That split with OLC didnt come out till way after the more sketchier stuff
and all the BDTR stuff.
I wouldn't call the new Empire Falls stuff working class Oi either, it doesnt really sound like Oi at all, American or British...its hardcore with
maybe a little antiseen-esque rock influence.
Originally they were kind posi youth crewish core, then they were "negi-core" negative sXe around the time they were in the whole pitboss 2000 era, of
which Bryan was also a singer on the early PB2k stuff (which is also when the warzone trib came about).
Then they drifted more into the whole anti-pc negative thing and he started better dead than red as a side project of more right wing hardcore (this
is about the era emprie falls were on the breed apart comp with 100 demons, everybody gets hurt etc etc which was put out by me and the guy that did
the warzone trib as a split label release)
After this better dead than red drifted from hardcore to more electric/metal style oi and became the darlings of the we're not white power but sell
skrewdriver cd's distro circuit, aka micetrap records, whitepower.com and pro am records and Emprie Falls drifted more to the southern rock hc type
feel that didn't really deal with politics super heavy like BDTR but still had no problem being sold by the same distros.
From that point on you guys can figure out the progression.
Bryan is a pretty cool guy from the times I've dealt with him in the past, and I like quite of few of his releases from both bands. He never really
was out and out racial in any of the stuff I'm aware of, I suppose he just realizes his market.
Peoples politics change...thats life.

yeah, they have several, antiseen, olc, creepout (some japanese band i think) plus a couple others. EF has like 6 albums worth of original material
and like 17 releases total (between live and different version/covers etc) and BDTR has like 3 albums I think.

EMPIRE FALLS was a tag or diss against Dwid right? Because of his DARK EMPIRE record label.
I never heard them but they were on some comps I remember.

Nah, I'm almost positive it had nothing to do with Dwid because they were in with the whole pitboss clevo clique when pb2k was in its heyday. I'm
guessing its either a general statement or dudes a fan of the book.
