Tatto Aftercare- What do you do?

It has been 8 years since I got a tattoo. I was told just use either neosporin or A&D Ointment back then. They also mentioned using a good lotion after about 7 to 10 days. Now I see there are products actually called "After Care". I was told this weekend to just use the Neosporin or A&D for no more then 2 days then switch to a good lotion like Eucerin or Curel. Curel doesn't have lanolin so I'm using that now. So far so good I guess.

What do the rest of the Thropers do or recommend. In college the local place told us to use preparation H.

A good washing with anti-bacterial soap and then a coat of A&D when I get home from the appointment.

Then I use A & D basicly until it looks healed and is just a little dry. Then Ive been using a non scented regular hand lotion type stuff.

I would like recomendations of what to use to keep the skin moist and the art looking fresh long term because I have been shaving the area and it seems to look dull until I put lotion on it. Any ideas?

Count how many tattoos there are in the world. Because thats the amount of opinions on aftercare you will probably receive.

Bottom line is whatever worked for you before still works.

I usally rub lemon juice on it, soak it in water for a while, then place it in direct sunlight for about 3 hours a day. Oh ya and when it gets inchy I scratch the fuck out of it with sand paper.

I do nothing. I pick them, I scratch them, I do everyting your not supposed to do. Never had a problem, except a little spot of red on one where I picked off a scab. I know, I know...

Well, its this place where nobody works, and the pigs don\'t give you any shit. Everyone smokes weed and gets drunk all day. Its a place where cunts like me and you can truly take it easy and relax. Know what I mean?

plain old vaseline intensive care hand lotion, with none of the vitamin and aloe additives.

If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.
