Paul Bearer's first band @ 14 years young

FROM REV. PAULIE'S MYSPACE BULLETIN:

http://www.myspace.com/bigcityrecordsny
FOR THE FANBOYS/GIRLS...
SOMEBODY PUT UP A BIG CITY RECORDS PAGE ON THIS THING...THIS WAS A LABEL RUN BY JAVI FROM OLD NYHC BAND SAVAGE CIRCLE...HE PUT OUT A BUNCH OF COMP 45'S,A FEW LP'S,AND THE "ONE BIG CROWD" COMP THAT SHEER TERROR DEBUTED ON...
WELL,ON THIS PAGE,THEY HAVE A TRACK FROM FATHEAD SUBURBIA...THIS WAS THE FIRST BAND THAT I EVER PLAYED LIVE WITH...THEY WERE YOUNG JAZZ GUYS INTO HARDCORE...THERE WERE 2 SINGERS,GEO AND MYSELF...THAT'S ME SCREAMING BACK-UP ON "THE MASSES" BACK IN '82 AT THE AGE OF 14...

SOMETIMES,I ACTUALLY FIND SOMETHING COOL ON HERE...

Never heard of the Lindenhurst stuff before, but I have that Big City comp. Picked it up for somethin' like $3.99 years ago. I also have another one that collects three of the Big City 7 inchers on one LP. There's some pretty cool stuff on those.

mbv, that's exactly right. from what i remeber, the songs are long, dark, slow and moody.
i have the tape, but my tape player is at a friend's place in brooklyn.
i'll work on getting it dubbed, though.

Duane, any chance you'll be getting this soon? I remember hearing about it when it came out but never got my sandwich clamps on the damn thing.

was this ever put out as an actual release?

What i have is just your standard blank sony cassette. On the spine is written
SHEER TERROR "Lindenhurst" Demo 3-Songs

I haven't listened to it in years, but it is three songs, and if I remember correctly, they're longer than your usual S.T. fare, and are definitely slower and darker.

I should be able to get my tape player back around the end of the month. In the mean time, I'll see what else I can find out about the recording.

I always thought the name of the band was LINDENHURST. I thought it was a whole different band than SHEER TERROR.

i always thought of it that way, despite the label on the tape.

that said, i don't know who it was i bought the tape from, so it's possible this is just a dub s/he made with slightly inaccurate info.
