the efx are are okay but fuck if they could write a good story....

Agreed. I was really hopeful that this
would be the start of a new trend of putting actual monsters back in Horror movies. Speaking of which, have you seen Dog Soldiers? I bought the DVD a
few months ago and it's right up there with American Werewolf In London for werewolf movies. Good story, good acting, even good looking monsters for
once!

I've heard good things but haven't seen it yet. I really don't like renting movies so it's one of those that if I find it for cheap enough I might
grab it. The guy who directed Dog Soldiers directed The Descent, which I really wanna see. Dog Soldiers is right up there with Shaun Of The Dead and
Bubba Ho Tep for my favorite Horror movies to come out in the past few years.

I heard good things about the descent
high tension was good for a renter or late night cable fix
a little slow at times but they had a good blood budget

You guys are speaking my language!!!!!!!! The Descent is one of the best horror movies to be released in the cinema in a loooooooooong time. If you
have not seen it yet, do so, you won't be dissapointed. Dog Soldiers is AMAZING! It has a great pace and never lets up. High Tension is along the
lines of Hostel and Saw, the new snuff style horror coming out, but is really good at it. For those who are interested The King, Romero, is making a
fifth Zombie film entitled "Diary of the Dead" It is said to go back to his low budget roots and takes place on the eve of the dead returning to life.
It focuses on some film students who are in the midst of making their own horror film when they hear about the dead returning to life they go to
investigate and get footage. It's supposed to be filmed in a Blair Witch type style for parts where you see through the camera of one of the actors
while they film. I cannot wait for this!!!!!!!!
