What kind of copyright issues are you running into? I can let you know what I use (when I get home) and I have been able to burn every disc I have tried to copy, most of which came from Netflix.

DVD Shrink will work for most DVD's.

DVD Decrypter works for everything else

grab a program called DVDDECRYPTER, its free.
use that to put the dvd on your computer then compress it(if nessessary with whatever program you want (i used DVDSHRINK, also free)), then i burn it with either NERO or CLONEDVD2.

i've never found a DVD that i haven't been able to copy yet.
