Update for the car enthusiasts

So over this past weekend we pulled the engine out of my Comet for an overall inspection and tuning. Turns out the rear main seal was fine, theres actually a pin hole in the oil pan that has been the cause of all my troubles! New oil pan going on this Friday. When we cracked the lower block open we found all the main and rod bearings were showing brass and one trip from some serious knocking and further damage. 50 bux later and a little elbow grease we swapped out all the bearings. Piston sleeves and rings are good, the timing is on gears instead of a chain, which is real nice and easy. Threw the bitch back together complete with all new gaskets and all the grease monkey love in the world. Dropped the bitch back in and reconnected all the various little odds and ends, you know, altenator, starter, little shit like that and then the moment of truth came. Turned the key and.............no start. Took me three days of searching to figure out I had the positive and negative wires to the starter coil on the same connector (don't laugh JuanD) Now she fires up like a champ and is real close to tearing up the black top! Can't wait, i had to tell someone how much work went into the beast and how happy I am right now:)

Oh yeah, one other thing, if any of you have to disconnect your distributor/d-cap or wiring harness, make sure you mark your cylinder firing order before removing, getting it back in place and in the right sequence is a cunny of a time!

Yeah, my buddy didn't even tell me when he sold it to me, we cracked it open and lo and behold, gears, no chain. I was pretty happy about that.
