Splash pages

Ok the multiple splash pages is getting annoying now. On page 1 put a link to the main home page or something, i hate all this bloody clicking shit.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Lots of labels go with multiple splash pages before you get to the actual homepage, and most of the time, that includes us.

What do the rest of you think?

i think its fine, but you should have an option to go straight to the main page. like the skip intro button.

I'm a lazy bastard at heart, but come on guys clicking two links isn't the end of the world. Some labels have a ridiculous amount of splash pages, so two isn't that bad.

The Stillborn site was fuckin ridiculous at one point with like 4 splash pages and no way to go to the main page. And the EVR & Trustkill websites used to hide the home link so they forced you to click some queer mp3 or something.
As long as there's a HOME on the first one or something, but now I know the proper link to the home page. Once I get my own PC back I'll have direct bookmark to the board & will only need to go to the main page when I'm curious about new mp3's or bands :) Which are usually posted here anyways hah.

it takes a max of like 2 seconds to click through both splash pages, so it doesnt bother me a bit. I get annoyed by the pop up ads like the Slapshot one, but it gets people's attention and that's the whole point.

I appreciate everyone's input on this topic. I'm surprised the responses are so evenly split.

Personally, I'm always worried about the user experience, so I'm fine with one splash page, but i hate the popup. Andy, on the other hand, is a lover of all things promotional - I usually won't do two splashes and a popup, but here we are. It's a pretty regular argument between the two of us. Good fun.

On the rare occasion when I go to the main address the splash pages annoy me, but since I almost always just come directly to the boards, I really can't complain.
