I remember hearing something on Lou Dobbs about how meatworkers back in the seventies were able to feed a family off their wages ($15-16hr for
experienced workers) now they have essentially outsourced those jobs for $6-7hr.

Yeah dude, meat packing plants get paid squat and the conditions are outrageously dangerous. Dudes lose limbs in those places all the time. I wouldn't
say the jobs have been "outsourced" though, that's shipping jobs overseas... it's just that most Americans won't do the shit because of the danger and
all that and the companies don't want to pay them what it would take or work with unions so they hire immigrants just over the border and bam...
you've got a bunch of Mexican dudes packing meat for low wages and losing fingers, arms and legs.
