Raging Italian Hard Core

I just got a friend request from this band, La Piovra. I had never even heard the name before and was expecting the same sort of generic youth crew stuff that almost all the Italian Hard Core bands I've ever heard of play, but when I checked out their page I was blown away. This is some great shit in the vein of what Hard Core used to be about back when that genre didn't refer to limp metal and tough guy posturing. Yeah, it sounds like it could've come out in the 80s, but it still manages to sound pretty fresh to me. Check 'em out, http://www.myspace.com/lapiovra

Apparently they are getting ready to tour some parts of the U.S. this summer, too bad they're coming nowhere near me.

I know it's derailing your thread, and while these dudes are decent, the best Italian band I've heard in awhile...Hungry Like Rakovitz.

Pretty good, but I'd be more apt to listen to it if I could understand the lyrics.

i like it. nice to hear a new band that doesn't sound like a bad metal band (chugga.).

Lyrics are a huge thing for me too, but I'd be pretty pissed if some band local to me sang in another country's language just because it's what they're "supposed to do". I'd dig it a lot more if I knew what they were singing about and liked that too, but when it comes to foreign bands the lyrics take a backseat to where they usually sit in my list of priorities.

As for your comment MM, my thoughts as to the value of your opinion can be summed up by that same word.

Have you ever noticed how crayons are a lot like M&M's? All the colors tend to taste the same.
