Operation Ivy reissue coming in July
I'll buy this.

The long-awaited reissue of Operation Ivy's legendary discography CD Energy has apparently been pushed back to July 10, 2007.
As originally reported, the disc will be released via the Epitaph-distributed Rancid Records. The album is remastered and repackaged in a digipak.
The album was last released via Lookout! Records, but pulled from the label after a series of financial problems.

speaking of surprise values...
i saw some McRad LPs on ebay recently selling for around $100.
unfucking believable.
i've got the OG press of Absence of Sanity, and you can bet your ass i'm gonna sell it. i got it for $1.99!

Damn I had OG presses of the first 12" EP and Absence. These are the times I wish I hadn't sold all my vinyl back in '94. If I had held onto what I
had I would be sitting very pretty.

I just listened to Operation Ivy yesterday. I like them alot. Im not sure I'll buy the reissue though. Maybe if someone here buys it they can
report back to the board on how it sounds? If there isnt a huge improvement then why bother buying it?

Op Ivy is great...
if you're in high school.
Honestly, this band is the epitome of kiddy punk. Good starter stuff, bouncy and harmless, but it's the musical equivalent of cotton candy. Lots of
fluff, no nutrional value.

I bought the Lookout release about 11-12 years ago after hearing about how great the band was. I didn't like it at all. I gave it to one of my
roommates, as it was more of his style of listening than mine.

true. i remember when the first rancid album came out. it was like "cool, the guys from op ivy have a new band". now i guess it's "dude, the guys from
rancid used to be in this old band". i still have a soft spot for them and i remember the first time i heard them in a skate video (can't remember
which one? anyone? circa '90). took me awhile to get the album and i fucking wore it out for a couple years straight. crazy they broke up right at the

I had OG presses of the Op Ivy 7' and LP. Damn, damn, damn. The wife bought the CD back in the early mid 90's so I never had to buy it and I doubt I
will buy the re-issue but I will probably obtain it one way or another.

The skate video you heard it in was the last video that H-Street put out before they were bought and became Plan B and the song was playing during
Matt Hesleys part. I cannot for the life of me remember the name of that video.
That was also the first time I heard them. I am pretty sure it was the song "Knowledge".

I still like the first 3 Rancid cds.
I only heard a few songs after 97 or so, but i liked them too.

Those are, bar none, the best Rancid albums. That last one was pretty good too, but I still think the first self-titled is the best. Before Lars.
