i'm always curious as to how these CDs get leaked so early.
is it intentional? are the artists/management/bands negligent and careless?
the CDs that get leaked 10-14 days before the release date are simply leaks from the pressing plants. leaks less than 7 days are ususally from CD
stores and radio stations.
a friend of mine is working on Marilyn Manson's new home studio and was telling me on Saturday that he's heard the new album "a whole bunch of times"
etc.
i replied, "i've had the album for about a week now, but only listened to it once".
he immediately called me a liar and told me how the album has been under lock and key, blah, blah, blah. he was certain someone had pulled a fast one
on me. when i brought him a copy of it, he was shocked. he couldn't believe it. he kept mumbling about how all the security talk was just that,
talk.

first off, there are so many cooks in the fuckin' kitchen that it's easy for one of em to grab a dub for themselves.
plus, with the internet, once one copy is out there, it spreads like wild fire.
take our blood for blood release for example. a very early recording leaked a couple of weeks before the record finally came out. we had had that
particular recording for like a year prior to it leaking. how it managed to stay under wraps as long as it did, i'll never know.
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.
