Anyone needing a new computer

I just got an e-mail from TigerDirect.com where I bought one of my computers. They have a 48 hour sale on an Acer laptop for $399...no rebates. I thought I'd post this in case anyone is in need of a new comp.

My bank account willnot agree with me but I think when the time comes for a new computer I may get a MAC. I have to look into it more but thats the way its looking.

that's a great deal, but i'd be concerned about the specs being able to really support vista.

I agree but they'll at least give you another 512mb for $24. Still a great deal on something the average person would be happy with.

also, the next computer I buy will also be a Mac.

tiger direct is know for some CHEAP prices.

it kinda sucks too, cause for what i do, i really should have a new pc for testing purposes, but i just can't bring myself to buy one right now. too many vista variations and concern over whether a low-end machine ($500) would really run well.

apple's new 'choose a vista' ad is perfect:

I just bought a new notebook and wireless router a couple weeks ago. I love the freedom to move all over the house.
Gateway - T2060 Notebook MX8734
Intel? Pentium? Dual-Core mobile processor T2060; 1GB DDR2 memory; DL DVD?RW/CD-RW drive; 17" widescreen; 160GB hard drive; Windows Vista Home Premium. $850.00

Linksys - 802.11g Wireless Router WRT54G
Up to 54 Mbps transfer rates with Wireless-G (54g); 2.4GHz wireless frequency (802.11g- and 802.11b-compliant); cable/DSL Internet sharing $49.99

good deals, dak.

juan, if you're looking ask about hardware that has 802.11n - it's the next version of wireless. it's faster and it's a little more future-proof. the final specs haven't been released, but almost everyone has "draft 802.11n" hardware now, meaning their equipment is based on the almost-finalized spec.

I have this same router now. Works way better than the Netgear thing I had before.

Yeah, i haven't had any problems with the router. Most of the newer notebook have the built in wireless LAN 802.11b/g.

I just built a new computer about 2 weeks ago. not counting monitor and keyboard and such I spent about $1300. And now I'm a broke ass white boy. Oh well at least I got a cool computer out of it.:D

Is anyone else running vista? If so what do you think so far?
