I know it's very hard to find spots that do these now, and from what I've seen it's getting pretty pricey. Most places cost at least double what it
costs to make a CD.

I used Erika, no complaints about the actuall service but its rediculously expensive. Plus they get you on so many charges its unreal. Like I got
quoted for 500 vomit records and they gave me the quote with overages, what they didnt tell me was that overages in this case equaled the extra 500
jackets/lables/inserts they need to print to make the 1000 minimum...I'm well aware that 1000 is a typical minimum print run and figured because they
said 500 was no problem and made NO mention of printing the full 1000 it wasnt an issue...but I paid for it in the long run, plus i have 500 extra of
all that shit i'll never use.
To print 1000 CD's you're looking at 1.50-1.90 a unit
for 1000 records it was over $4 a unit...being that I only did 500 it cost me $7 a unit...good luck making ANY money on somthing like that.

The absolute cheapest way to press vinyl is to get your mastering done through Aardvark (http://www.aardvarkmastering.com), then have them send your plates to United (http://www.urpressing.com) and get your jackets done through Imprint (http://www.iloveimprint.com).
However... you can get everything done all through Pirates Press (http://www.piratespress.com) and they have WAY better selection of patterns/colours to choose from for vinyl. They're a bit more expensive, but
it takes out a lot of the having to wait for three separate places to get their shit together.
Just so you know, I've used the Aardvark/United/Imprint holy trio for four records now and it hasn't let me down yet.

True, but they're not even the ones doing the vinyl, graphics, etc. They're just a liason/broker for the plant in the Czech Republic.
