Have you ever noticed how crayons are a lot like M&M's? All the colors tend to taste the same.

Yup, every year. I grow tomatoes, peppers, squash, collard greens, cucumbers and then one or two other sordid items we give a shot. This year it's melon, last year it was carrots and beets.

Awesome!
This year I?m growing tomatoes, yellow squash, zucchini, green beans, green peppers, cabbage, watermelon, corn & strawberries.
I would like to add that the strawberries are coming in great this year!
I was going to plant some blueberry bushes but there is a bunch that grow wild around here that I didn?t see the point in doing so.

If I wanted too I could keep a large flower bed. Growing up my mom had me rotatile (sp?) the front of our yard so she could create a large flower bed. Only a couple years went by then she started having trouble getting up and down, so she asked me to help her. After a while I did most of the weeding, watering, flowering buying, and so on. She loves flowers and I did it for her. I do the same now where she lives now only a much smaller flower bed. I dont get out as often as I should and she doesnt go out much to the front of that yard.

Christ, I just wrote a paragraph on keeping a flower bed.

I want to start an herb garden. Fresh herbs add sooooo much flavour to food.

My wife and I just bought this house last year, so this is going to be our first gardening season.

The hopefuls this year are potatoes, carrots and zucchini.

Didn't want to overdo it on our first time out.

I had tomatoes, watermelon, corn, honeydew, and some assorted flowers back home. I grew up on a whitetrash city farm and we had everything then. Goats, chickens, fruits and veggies all in the middle of identical track home madness.

What color did you get? Dark brown, black or the red/orange?

black. i like the contrast it offers the actual plants and flowers.

i gave the place place we opdered from the square footage of my gardens, told 'em i wanted it two inches deep and they came back with 4 cubic yards. good thing i actually thought about that after i hung up the phone. damn. had 2 delivered and used about about 1.5. fortunately, my next door neighbor took the rest off my hands.

also this weekend, my man renald the electrician came out from the city and ran a bunch of electric receptacles in the garage. i plan to finish the whole thing, so getting more outlets in before the walls go up was a must. electric scares me - definitely not up for doin it myself!
