Star Wars is 30 today!
So today is the 30th anniversary of Star Wars' initial release. Big Star Wars Celebration IV is going on in LA for the next few days. Some website
that could be a CGI animated fan-film is supposed to launch today http://talesofthenewrepublic.com/
Luke and Wedge
Seems to take its design cues from some statues made by Gentle Giant LTD.

Plus on Sunday there's going to be something on http://www.starwars.com probably about the new CGI animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars full blown series that's going to come out next year.

Monday the History Channel is doing a special called "Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed" that looks into the worldwide myths and traditions that inspired
Star Wars. It airs at like 9PM.
Awesome weekend of geekery for me!

I was a bit older. My uncle worked at the 86th Theatre when ESB opened. I got to go to NYC premiere. We all dressed up as our favorite characters ,at
the time, I loved Chewbacca, now its Vader. I had my mom make a Chewie costume for me......
CAN YOU SAY STAR WARS MARATHON TONIGHT!

Im not 30 yet, so I didnt see them when they first came out. I must have seen one of them in the theater though, because I can remember finding one
of my Star Wars figures in the back yard all mangled because my dad had run it over with the lawnmower. I also had one of those speeder things that
Luke and Leia rode in that forest. If you pressed a button on the back of it parts would fly off of it.

I was one when ESB came out, but my older cousin introduced me. I used to play the Atari game at his house, played with his figures. Rented the
movies. Then I got back into when I was 12 or 13 after finding some novels in Sam's Club. It's been an integral part of my life ever since. I was so
stoked in '97 when the Special Editions were released in the theater. When to ANH with my dad, ESB with some friends, and ROTJ with my dad. I went to
see ROTS for the third time with him when I went to visit in summer '05. I really enjoy going to see sci-fi flicks with my pops.
He's a Trek fan though. Not a Trekkie, but he likes the old school show.
I just finished watching ANH 20 minutes ago... it's such a great flick. G4TV is having a 2 hour special live from Star Wars Celebration IV at 7 pm
Eastern.
