Yard Dogs Road Show
Anybody ever see this? They were here this past weekend and were fuckin' AMAZING. I didn't know anything about them, but we had a poster up in the
tattoo shop for them and a bunch of people told me I NEEDED to check 'em out. To put it succinctly, they were right.
Basically they are part of the new resurgence of old time circus type stuff. Part Vaudeville, part Rock "N Roll, and a healthy dose of Burlesque (via
the Black And Blue Burlesque Revue, who are kind of a part of them, but are their own thing as well). I cannot recommend them enough if you dig any of
those things even a little. They are a band that plays stuff that falls somewhere in between Tom Waits and Th' Legendary Shack Shakers with some
random "old timey" sounding stuff thrown in throughout too. At the same time, the various members of the band will perform their acts, there's a sword
swallower, a fire eater, the burlesque dancers I mentioned, and a lot more.
I've seen a lot of cool shit over the years, whether it was music of some sort or just various forms of live entertainment, but these guys blew me
away. I finally understand the idea of wanting to run away with the circus. They have a website with some video and other info, http://yarddogsroadshow.com/ and there's a link for them on myspace too.
I'm still replaying the show in my head and it was so much fun my friends and I went back the second night. I know this kind of stuff is outside the
usual realm of what HC kids are into, but trust me, if you can appreciate any of what I described here you will love these guys. I'm not usually one
to go on and on about how great something is, but this show made a fanboy outta me. For anyone familiar with me or my usual spiels on here, my instant
fan status should be a pretty good sign of just how impressive this stuff is.

I'll have to check this out. My band is opening for a burlesque revue sometime in August, really looking forward to it.
Well, its this place where nobody works, and the pigs don\'t give you any shit. Everyone smokes weed and gets drunk all day. Its a place where
cunts like me and you can truly take it easy and relax. Know what I mean?
