i dyed it yesterday and it is indeed cool

its not so much a "punk rock" thing with him

I reccomend a Robert Munsch book called "Stephanie's Ponytail", it carries the, "im going to tell them that it doesn't matter what they think and that

Awesome, your son is a smart kid. I might feel different about the hair if he was an adult, but at 7 years old, he's already doing what he wants to do
and doing it for the right reasons. I have the same rule for blue or similarly colored hair as I do for mohawks: if you're old enough to have
graduated from school, it's way past being cool.

Thats awesome!
My son has had me cut and dye his hair into a red mohawk every summer for three years now (he's 8).
He even saves up some of his own money to buy the bleach & dye.
Have you ever noticed how crayons are a lot like M&M's? All the colors tend to taste the same.

I would like to add that clear tacky glue (the kind used for arts and crafts projects) diluted with a little bit of water is great for "spiking" up
the mohawks. It's non-toxic and washes out easily.
I think it's better than any hairspray or gel that i've used in my sons hair.
