Terror - Lowest Of The Low
This is a continuation of the records that changed your life and the more I thought about it. I wanted to start my own thread around this record.
See... I had been listening to punk from early ninties into 2000. But by late ninties I still listened to Hardcore but punk had taken over my player
from the sweet sounds of Fat Wreck and Epitaph. H2O made "not their best album" and Bouncing Souls made in my opinion their worst album around the
same time in 01. Madball and Vision hadnt put out anything new. And their were Hardcore and punk bands that i bought but noone got me excited.
I lost faith in both genres really. Punk was getting overdone with explosion of blink 182 and so on. Best bands (only two with anything out) I was
listening to were SOIA and BFB. Good enough but I found myself relistening to old records since nothing new was doing it. Then I heard these two songs
from a sampler by a band called Terror. The first listen I was like yea, thats pretty good. Then I wanted to constantly hear it again until by the end
of the day I was blown away. I bought the cd and loved it. I started using my computer to find more music. And came across messageboards and
purevolume and so on. This record single handedly steered me back into Hardcore full time. Since then I have started a label, met som great friends,
put out some great music on my own and have as much passion and feeling right now as I did when I first got into it back in 92.

all TERROR rule.

that Terror cd is great.
I just don't think the newer material has been as good.
It may just be me but something about them bothers me, and I don't know what.

I liked this one, but I wasn't as into their second album and haven't heard the third. I like the band, but Scott Vogel is a tool.

I'm of the mindset that Terror is the single greatest overhyped band to ever exist. I can't think of a greater example of paint by numbers hardcore in
the past 20 years and thats saying a lot because I hate tons of stuff, haha.

Its so fucking energetic. I can relate. Gets me going. They are Great live.
The newest cd, Always The Hard Way. I don't like it nearly as much as Lowest of the Low and One with the Underdogs. And upon first listen I didn't
like it at all. Now I love it, not as much as the other albums but it takes time, you listen to it more and more and you like it more and more. At
least thats how it is for me with a lot of bands. Especially heavier bands. Not catchy to most people because they aren't used to it. (Not terror they
are catchy I think but bands like bulldoze, one second thought, nothing left to mourn, yeah...)

I agree that they're really overrated, but they put on one hell of a fun live show.

I just saw them with Madball...for like the 3rd? 4th time?. Kids geuninely are into them so it makes for a good visual show, but from the perspective
of a band needing to impress me with good music from the bar and not how many kids will stagedive because of corny Vogelisms....they're pretty boring.
Vogel is like the Barney the purple dinosaur of hardcore...he couldn't force anymore sugary sweet rhetoric about how hardcore keeps us alive down our
throats if he tried.
We need more hate.

I only saw them once when they were touring for Lowest of the Low with Madball and Hatebreed. It was the first time i had heard the band and really
enjoyed their set. I liked them enough that I bought the cd at the show. It was a good time.
At the same time, I've read interviews with Vogel and he comes off like a complete fucking tool, and I can see why people don't like the band. He's a
bit over the top with the "hardcore saves lives" kind of shit.

I always enjoy Terror from time to time but they seriously have too many kids swinging from their nuts. Good for what they are, and yes do put on a
good show but yes, vastly overrated.

I agree with most everyone here. Lowest of the Low was real good, not breaking new ground but still good. Their live show was a good time when I
went, but uuugghhh the third album....they tried turning into a slayerish hardcore band singing about slaying dragons of the mind and the apocolypse
or some shit.....

I dont see Lowest of The Low as generic. It came out in a time not much was exciting me. And it brought power back into Hardcore. You can name a
hundred bands from the early ninties that were better but I probably didnt hear of them at the time. This is the one band and album that roped me back
in. Its nowhere near the perfect album but thats why they call it Hardcore. To keep with the other posts, I liked some songs on one with the underdogs
and even less on the new one, but I have purchased all so far.

I'm pretty much in agreement w/ the posts here. I just realized I have seen them live 4 times. They killed every time. I met Scott in Dallas at a
show. He was very nice and seemed very genuine.
Lowest of the Low is awesome. The song Overcome from the 2nd album really pumps my nads. Good stuff.
