Phillies about to make history

With their next loss the Phillies will be the
first major sports team to reach 10,000 losses.

saw the countdown in the paper.
i was wondering what the signifance was.

couldn't that kind of misleading, though? i mean, how old is the franchise compared to others?

If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

yeah I was also thinking this.
Most of the teams have been around for a long time even with changing citys and all. like the dodgers and giants were originally out of NYC the As out of Phila and so on
and now there are a bunch of expansion teams too.
