ALGEBRA

Have you passed this in highschool or college?

Can you do algebra problems now?

HAve you forgotten it or still the algebra master?

I skated out of it in highschool and now paying the price. Its tough and I am in bad shape with my algebra class for college. I hate it. It sucks. Its the only class holding me from my Associate of Arts degree and graduating with my bachelors in a year and a half.

I took Algebra 1 and 2 in my junior year, then I did geometry adn some other math both in my senior year just to get a college prep diploma. Little good all that did me.

Math was always a favorite of mine. I took calculous in high school and somehow wound up in Algebra 1 in College. Teacher was cool and let me test out. I moved to Stats at that point.

I did fine in Algebra. I dunno if I can do it now since it's been a few years. I took a few classes in Calculus in college and that fucking sucked. That's when I realized I hate math and decided that Engineering probably wasnt the major for me.

I dropped out my junior year of HS but did so with straight A's (yeah I know, I was a dumb kid and still am in many regards) so when I took my GED test, I aced it in the 99% percentile of the state. I've since enrolled in CCP and have accumulated a 4.0 GPA and have had little problems with math or algebra.

Hey, watch it! :) I was tempted to explain why JuanDiablo's post isn't necessarily algebraically true, but I held back.

So, uh, yeah, I remember algebra.

It's sooo dependant on the teacher. I was a straight C student in HS, and BARELY scraped through algebra and BARELY BARELY passed geometry a year later. Years later when I entered the sheet metal apprenticeship, an early requirement was a sheet metal math class, and because of all the crazy layout this is heavy on algebra, geometry and trigonometry. I figured I was screwed. The teacher was a sheet metal worker, pretty bright and he knew he wasn't teaching the future brain surgeons of America. He didn't dumb things down, he just took his time and explained things the right way...I ended up with a 95% if I remember right.

I remember asking my Algebra teacher what I would ever use it for and she said to be an Algebra teacher. She wasn't very good. If I had teachers like you spoke of, perhaps I would have done way better in school. But in my high school it was a big joke as far as quality of teachers...

I'm great with business math, and aced that course in high school. When you get into algebra, calculas and shit like that, I'm a fucking retard.

You know what pisses me off? In junior high I got As and Bs in pre-algebra then I got stuck in pre-algrebra again in fucking high school for 2 years! My guidance councilors didn't help me with shit and so I ended up having to do algebra 1 my junior year with a bunch of freshmen and sophmores AND algebra 2 and geometry at the same time my senior year. I think I said something different before, but now I'm remembering correctly. Point being, I got fucked over by my school and just stopped caring on that front.

I hated Math. Even when teachers would bullshit you at the beginning of the years and say, everyone has an 'A', I still wound up with a D by the first report card. I still suck at Math. I am getting an accountant for Awake/Strong's finances next year. Taxes were a motherfucking goddamn nightmare this year... Because I hate Math.

^^^^^^^^^ that is awsome. Sad for me but awsome that they are teaching this that early. I graduated without Algebra. That is so fucking lame.
