DROWNINGMAN JOINS THE THORP FAMILY

DROWNINGMAN JOINS THE THORP FAMILY!

After reforming in late summer of last year, spastic, emo-metal-hardcore forerunners DROWNINGMAN have officially signed with THORP RECORDS. Expect a new full length entitled ?Don?t Push Us When We?re Hot " sometime in August 2005 and an additional EP sometime mid 2006. A quote from frontman Simon Brody is below:

", we (Drowningman) have finally amassed an arsenal of new anthems for the emotionally challenged. Although scared of police, lawyers, record contracts and people that wear sweat pants in public, we have decided that according to the "dude code," Andy and the folks at Thorp Records were the people to bring you our upcoming full-length "Don't Push Us When We're Hot." Official release date will be slated for sometime in August but the band will have copies available on tour by late June. Drowningman will then follow up with an EP (which will be recorded concurrently with the LP) early next year. For Bio information and show dates (which will be forthcoming in the next few weeks for late April after recording is completed) and to hear a demo version of "Major Disappointment Reporting for Duty" check out the bands official site www.drowningmanisnotyourbabydaddy.com. ?

Man, I'm fucking pumped that these guys are back together. Greatest song titles, amazing combination of frantic metal and Articles of Faith, I can't wait to hear the new stuff. It better not blow. 'My First Restraining Order'? Classic...

An odd pairing indeed, but I dig this band. Looking forward to this.

Cool news for Thorp. All Ive got is Rock n Roll Killing Machine and I dont really listen to it. Ive been told it's not their best stuff though. I'll give them another shot when an mp3 gets posted.
