for me they?re one of the best bands that came out of ny ever. nice antisocial (in a positive way) dirty hardcore with really good lyrics. love all their records and they were live awesome as well.
check myspace.com/sfa (gyroscope is a burner)

try to get their "hate core" cd on wreckage, it compiles the first to records and they?re their best stuff.

SFA are fucking amazing. Longtime favorite for me, I used to blast them back to back with Sheer Terror because there's a very similar feeling to the lyrics of both bands. I'd put them somewhere between Sheer Terror and Awkward Thought in terms of sound. They got more metally sounding as time went on, but you gotta love a band that writes a song about Kurt Cobain called 'I Killed Kurt', especially when the last line is "You're next Courtney!!!"

I got the Area 51 comp and they got a few songs on there, only stuff I've heard and it was good.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

By the way, this album is a fucking masterpiece of HC. Now that I think about it, it may be the best HC album of all time. Whoa, either this is the Busch talking or I'm on to something. Either way

One thing I've never seen listed anywhere in all the years I've been listening to this band is just what the fuck SFA is an abbreviation for. Does anybody know?

I was thinking the exact same thing today. I combed over their site and found nothing:

Any help? Bueller?

I'm seriously becoming addicted to this band again.

Here's a personal SFA tidbit for youse.... When I was doing the radio show I had a guy call in one night and in a spacey stoner voice ask me to play "somethin' eeeeevil, man", so I played I Killed Kurt. Turns out the guy is the boyfriend of a good friend of mine and we're friends now.

Oh, and back home there is a high school named after the city's namesake, Stephen F. Austin. It sits right next to an overpass on a freeway there and on the wall facing the road they have the initials in giant metal letters. In other words, as you drive down the freeway you see a giant SFA on the wall. I always wanted to take a picture of that and send it to those guys.
