Suggs was NF, supposedly.
Well, its this place where nobody works, and the pigs don\'t give you any shit. Everyone smokes weed and gets drunk all day. Its a place where
cunts like me and you can truly take it easy and relax. Know what I mean?

I remember hearing about that Madness/NF link years ago, but, yeah, you're right, a lot of those English bands had NF ties back then, especially on
the Oi! side of things. Some NF leader made a blunder and said something to the effect of "all the skinheads would be lined up and shot once they
gained power", so that kinda' put a damper on recruitment. That one comment inspired a lot of songs too.

This is so weird. I have been listening to The Oppressed. I looked them up on You Tube and saw that picture in a You Tube Video. I think this is
it:

I saw it this morning. This is seriously weird that it came up.

CHANGING THE SUBJECT SLIGHTLY, WHAT WAS YOUR INVOLVEMENT WITH THE MADNESS FILM ?TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT?, ALSO CAN YOU TELL US THE STORY BEHIND THE MUCH
REPORTED FRIENDSHIP WITH SUGGSY ?
Suggsy used to be the roadie for Skrewdriver back in 1978 and I went back down to London for a while and stayed at this mothers flat cos he?d moved
out of his room and bought a house so I had his room. I was only there for about seven months, that was basically it, the picture was taken in his
mums front room. The Madness film was done in about 1981 or something like that, anyway because I didn?t have much money at the time, they just got me
on the film, that?s all. I got the agency fee which was about ?60 or something, and that?s why I was in the film.
ARE YOU STILL IN CONTACT WITH SUGGSY, WHEN IS THE LAST TIME THAT YOU HEARD FROM HIM ?
No, I?m not in contact, not since the article in the Sun newspaper, I didn?t try and contact him and he didn?t try and contact me, which is fair
enough, he?s got to make a living and if he?s mixing with a nationalist he is gonna find it hard to make a living. We didn?t fall out or anything like
that and as far as I know we were still on good terms with eachother, I?ve got nothing against the bloke, he?s done me a lot favours in the past. He?s
just trying to make a living. If he wants to make a living like that, its up to him. I?ve got no intention of slagging him off, and why should I ?
the whole interview is here....

Thought of this last night when I was watching The Young Ones. Madness was on two episodes of that show. Good times.

I think I remember reading some interview with Suggs where he said something to the effect of he and The One Who Cannot Avoid Trees being roommates in
college or some shit. I remembered it because I thought it was pretty funny that someone like Ian Stuart went to college, especially at that time in
England. Anyway, he said something about them growing up together and splitting off their separate ways when Stuart started getting involved with The
National Front bullshit. Obviously, by that time Madness was already involved with the whole 2 Tone scene and the reason their friendship was swept
under the rug was that it was more or less an unthinkable sin to ever be associated with anyone of "those leanings".
