Hopefully someone on here does this...

What Awake/Strong and Define The Meaning are doing, is allowing anyone to write in to either the myspace or email address listed below. Telling us positive thoughts or stories about one band on the comp. The only "catch" is your statement can not be centered around a specific song or album.

...Good...

Saw Agnostic Front on my rooftop in 1986. That show got me into Hardcore.

Melvin
Dublin, Ireland

...Not so good....

OMFG! Scratch The Surface is lyke so awesome woooo!

Hopefully you get the idea. Reason we're doing this is we are going to take your write-ins (only one per person please), we'll choose one for each respective band.

Put your name, thoughts, and location, in the in-lay of the Music By People Like Us compilation cd due out in October. These write-ins will only be accepted now until September 1st. Make it happen...

I wrote a couple sentences about the only band on the list who I can honestly say I've liked everything they did and who never seem to have changed for the trends or tried to cash in, Blood For Blood.

What about you, Joe?

If Snapcase was on the comp I'd have a good one :)

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

As far as releasing it... Just me.

As for story selection... Karen from Define The Meaning will be going thru the selections and together her and I are going to pick the best stories for the respective bands.
