The Young Ones/Bottom

Two of the greatest shows ever. Watched the complete series of The Young Ones last night and tonight. Now I'm gonna start in on Bottom. I pity anyone who has never had the chance to enjoy the sheer brilliance of these two shows.

I've been thinking about picking up The Young Ones on DVD lately. That may be the one good thing I ever got out of Mtv. I used to watch that show constantly when it was first being shown late at night on Mtv.

Never heard of Bottom before. Well, not as the name of a show anyways.

Bottom is Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmonson (Rik and Vyvyan on Young ones) as a couple of losers living together. They also did another show called Filthy Rich & Catflap. If you get the Young Ones dvd set you get an episode of both of the other two shows as bonus features.

The Young Ones is absolutely amazing, Bottom was ok but a one trick pony. I would highly highly highly recommend to all interested in Irish/English comedies to check out "Father Ted" its the single funniest thing ever show on TV

I remember waiting up on Sunday nights to watch the Young Ones and trying to set the timer on my VCR. It NEVER started on time. It was so frustrating. I just love that show though. Just awesome. That was the first time I heard Motorhead and The Damned.

My wife used to love Young Ones, so we rented some last year to see if I liked it and she'd lost interested. I didn't like it either.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Father Ted is hilarious, I don't know if its on anymore here though. I love the old rummy priest.

Well, its this place where nobody works, and the pigs don\'t give you any shit. Everyone smokes weed and gets drunk all day. Its a place where cunts like me and you can truly take it easy and relax. Know what I mean?
