Age of Quarrel is tops... but I still wouldn't call them the quintessential hardcore band like everyone and their fucking mother does just because AoQ
was such a quality album. Doesn't change the fact that most of the rest of their stuff is not up to snuff.

I love the Cro- Mags. Age of Quarrel and Best Wishes were amazing start to finish. A lot of people don't like Alpha-Omega but I think it had some
quality tunes on it. Near Death Experience was a complete abortion that should never have been released. Revenge was a GREAT fucking record. I love
the shit out of that album. Also highly recommended is the double live album they put out, "Hard Times in an Age of Quarrel."

Age of Quarrel is pretty much it though. Everything after that wasnt really the mags. so should be ignored. I mean there were some decent riffs and
shit on Best Wishes but the minute Harely opened his mouth the song was destroyed.

I like Age Of Quarrel and parts of Best Wishes, but aside from some unearthed early tracks I have (basically demo versions of AoQ and a couple other
songs), I think they're a lip service band. In other words, everybody lists them as a favorite just because they're one of those bands whose name will
always be associated with NYHC. I give them credit for helping that scene, but nowhere near as much credit as either Harley or John Joseph seem to
think they deserve.

i never got into the cromags. didn't like JJ's voice.
saw them once or twice, but don't own any of their records.
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

I completely agree that Harley thinks way too highly of himself.
