When local bands get big
I used to go see angel city outcasts play at the local 5 dollar shows when I was 14. Its crazy seeing how far they have come since then.

Alexisonfire.
About 50-75 people at NAC in St. Catharines with some others (Abandoned Hearts Club, Rise Over Run) then literally months later they are selling out
the biggest venue in town, touring the country, and making it through sold out Australia, Europe tours. Playing 3 nights in a row to 2500 people in
Toronto...insane.
A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s
a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal
favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

MUSHROOMHEAD- still hate this band but they got huge locally around 1995 then nationally around 2000 but now I have no idea what they are now.
Probalby still suck
INTEGRITY- always awsome even when they suck. Never got huge though.
CHIMARIA- still ahve no fucking idea why they still exist. Annoying and fake is all I can say.

I think the biggest name to come out of our scene was probably Sarah MacClachlan. I'd say the biggest punk act was probably the New Breed (likely cuz
I had nothing to do with it. )
Help me out boys.
Well, its this place where nobody works, and the pigs don\'t give you any shit. Everyone smokes weed and gets drunk all day. Its a place where
cunts like me and you can truly take it easy and relax. Know what I mean?

Fall Out Boy- put out their first EP on Sean "Vegan Reich" Muttaqi's label Uprising Records. Pete Wentz and Andy the drummer(I forget his last name)
were both in Chicago and Indianapolis metalcore bands up until about 2000. Never thought I'd see either of those two on every news stand and even
action figures of them at FYE. All of Pete's vegan straight edge bands sucked, and Andy was in Racetraitor(probably more famous for their singer's
tirades about anti-racism than for their tunes).
Haste the Day- The singer was in Upheaval, probably the only truly death metal vegan straight edge band after he(Jimmi of Haste the Day) left it for
Christianity. While Jimmi was in it, it was more a metalcore band aspiring to be death metal. Upheaval was great, Haste the Day... not so much.

Poison.
Have never met them and would fucking love too!
LIVE (rock band).
Weird fucking dudes. Guitar player Chad has a studio in Lancaster. He is the only semi normal one, really.
Fuel.
They're orginally from Florida but moved here to make it big, which I just cant comprehend.
Those are the only bands in my immediate area that did anything.

Nelly is the most recent famous dude from STL.
I don't like his music but he does a hell of a lot for the community.
