MY WEEKEND IN NYC

My ears are still ringing. it's almost 2am. Fucking great weekend.

here is the bullet point highlighted rundown:

- got to say hi to John Joseph after not seeing him for years. love that dude. never forget phone conversations about krishna consciousness that lasted hours. plus, he nicknamed me 'deisel'. (although know prolly a little too fat to merit such a name)

-saw Danny NSK. last time saw him was when NSK stayed at my house on the Soulfly tour in 2002. Danny lost 40 lbs -- i was dissapointed! ha. I did see him eat a Kelbasi sandwhich though, so he still did me proud.

-seeing Madball. enough said.

-meeting mikey from sworn enemy/cold as life/merauder

-eating 'wicked good' pizza with the ducky boys and seeing them live. those songs move me even more live than they do on cd. great fucking rock n roll band. this world needs more of that. great dudes too. cheers to young Pat Lind and his wicked great pizza eating skills.

- seeing Thorns (has worked at both Revelation and Bridge 9). always liked that dude (even when there was times he prolly didn't like me)

- meeting ken casey of DKM

-meeting Will Sheplar (legendary drummer for AF in the early days)

-talking with Pete Kollar about the longevity of SOIA and about cost of living differences from city to city.

- meeting Al Barr and getting confirmation on the reality of the upcoming BRUISERS reunion. That band NEVER got the recognition they deserved. One of the best bands ever. I still need to listento CRUSIN' FOR A BRUISIN' on a regular basis.

- seeing and meeting BRAIN FAILURE. the band just straight up rocks. talk baout having heart -- i don't wanna hear about bands crying about no scene and it being hard to be in a band. these dudes made it out of red China to come and rock out. Best quote from them tonight: "We are from China. But tonight playing with dropkick Murphys, we feel like we are Irish". Since my wife is chinese and I am Irish, it felt quite natural to see so much Chinese and irish intermingling under one roof. hell , my kids get to celebrate st paddys dya and chinese new year with legitimacy

- hanging with Big Duane in brookllyn. Eating steak. drinking wine. smoking cigars. eating Boar's Head sausage with Jack Daniel's spicy mustard.

-hanging with John from AWKWARD THOUGHT. Seriously that dude is big, i felt like seriously ifnferior in size.

- watching BORN IN EAST LA on my laptop on the plane

- seeing dropkick murphys. never gets old no matte rhow manyh times I see them. they got wicked heart yo.

-regrets: not being able to see MERAUDER's set

wow. this might be the most i have posted on this board ever.

i oughta leave ohio more often.

thats more than i have done in a lifetime

just take a look at the papers
your leaders
they\'re killers
they\'re liars
what they do in your
name to make the bodies pile higher
the murders, the terror
they\'ve done it forever
as we sit band and smile
at the script they sell us
but now the victims, they\'re rising
their numbers\'s multiplying
they want their revenge for the years
that they\'ve been dying
