SAW 4

Saw it last night. Me and my best friend just have a "thing" of sorts about seeing the SAW movies on opening night. We have seen them all on opening night. It was pretty good, pretty much what you would expect. The traps were good, but deffinetly not enough of them. Deeper insight into Jigsaw and whatnot.

Also, anoyne see "30 days of night" yet? It is rainy out today so I think me and the misses are gonna go see that. Cool concept (Vampires in Alaska where there is no daylight for long periods of time), and the style of it looks cool.

I also saw SAW IV last night and I thought it was really good. The opening scene was great!

INDEED! VERY well done, and it had sooo many people in the theatre gagging. Good stuff!

That vampire movie seems cool.

I could care less about seeing the new Saw, but I did go to 30 Days Of Night on opening day. I liked it a lot, although the editing job seemed pretty shitty, I'm hoping that means there's a bunch of stuff they'll throw back in for the DVD. Very cool take on the whole thing, no cheesy goth costumes or seductive tactics, just some brutal motherfuckers tearing out throats with their crazy teeth. Lots and lots of gore and some impressive effects used in some VERY brutal scenes, especially the decapitations. I can't remember another movie where you actually see someone's head chopped off all the way through from start to finish without the camera panning away and coming back to show a fake looking head. This shit looks real.

The worst thing about seeing it was the crowd. Usually I go see movies as matinees pretty early in the day and enjoy being one of three or four people in the theater. This time I went on opening night with a friend and went to what was probably the peak show time. In this town it seems like people think of movies like watching TV, the motherfuckers just talk the whole damn time and have no problem coughing in your ear for an hour before thinking of going outside. That shit ALMOST ruined the movie for me, but not quite.

^^^^^^^I'm the same way. I avoid crowds when going to a movie.

I love seeing it on a big screen, with loud volume (IMAX is killer) but I hate people.

Saw 4 had some pretty cool traps in it but the chronology of it was so fucked up that it was hard to follow at the end.

I hear that! I feel like a retard when I go to a Saw movie. I can never remember who anyone is or follow the whole thing!

Hey, fuck you too, buddy!

Blah, I just think they're boring and an obvious cash cow at this point. I found the first one mildy entertaining, but far from the brilliant new thing people were touting it as at the time. There was DEFINITELY never any reason for a sequel and there sure as fuck doesn't need to be 3, 4, and however many more times they'll milk this limp shit.

I'm tempted to go see it. As for the series, I've seen 1 and 3, but I don't think I've seen 2 yet. 3 really had some potential to be an intriguing movie for a while with the debate about whether the guy could recover his humanity by forgiving/helping some people who totally ruined his life with regard to his kid... but they fucking blew it and just went for some gore at the end. But they certainly not the worst movies I've ever seen.

There was indeed a reason for a sequel and a 3, 4 and so on. $$$ the same reason they made all those Halloweens, Friday the 13th's, Nightmare on Elm Street and so on. Money is always the reason and if it was going in my pocket I would find it to be the best reason in the world.
