Hello from Baghdad!!!!!!

I am officially back to the boards as I have finally found a place to settle for a bit, unfortunately it happens to be in a war zone. Fact of the matter is, whatever the news tells youz, don't eat it up, most of it is bullshit, things here are fucked, but not near as bad as the liberal media paints it. progress is being made on a daily basis and our casualties are at a record low and looking to stay that way, I have a newfound love for Americas youth, some of the best and brightest are out here doing great things on a daily basis and changing lives, you think CNN gives a shit? Fuck em! How the fuck are all of you?

Curry, and lots of it. Kellog Brown and Root handle all of our day to day living type stuff like laundry, maintenance, food and such, they are actually really good. Too good, the chow hall has at least 5 different main courses to choose from at every meal and a hundred different sides, a kick ass salad bar and a devastating desert bar. You have to be careful for sure. I have been working out every day though so hopefully I wont do too much damage. I have alot of catching up to do, I was going through old topics to input on but decided to stop as there was too much I missed and I didn't want to drag up too much old shit on you guys. So here are a few catch up questions:

How is the new AF?
What did everyone think of Zombies Halloween version?
what does everyone think of Romeros new flick "Diary of the Dead"? I can't wait for this one
How was everyones Halloween?

And now some updates,
I am working Civil Affairs, it's interesting to say the least and restricted only by our imaginations. We are the backbone on getting this country to a form of stability while the security crackdown is in place. Our CAT teams have had the opportunity to focus on rebuilding and getting what is needed to the local nationals. I have had two close calls so far and hope thats all I have for the rest of my stay, nothing too serious, indirect mortar and small arms fire. But scary never the less. Flying into baghdad was a trip, so surreal being here, nothing like expected. The people here are for ther most part very welcoming all things considered. I have been listening to a shitload of Turbo AC's for some reason, and the new sasquatch and the Sickabillys "storming the gates" is AMAZING, go buy it , they thank the Heathens SC/CC in their CD liner, so fuckin cool :) I will be on here on a more regular basis now so get used to having my arse around ya bastads.

Great to hear from you and see that you'll be with us more regularly for a while. As to your questions, the new AF is something that attention should be diverted from, I loved the new Halloween (and that's from someone who hates all the old ones), I'm looking forward to anything from Romero, and lastly, this Halloween was the best one I've had in years.

The new AF is awsome. Don't listen to anyone who says otherwise.

Glad to hear for you bro. Take care of yourself. Not suprised to hear things there are not as bad as some may say. I can imagine its dangerous but you know some media outlets blow it out of out of the water.

anyway be safe and keep filling us in with what your doing.

Fuck yeah bro! First day with the Cav and the incoming alarm goes off, next thing you know I can hear the whizzing and banging of oncoming mortar rounds walking in closer and closer to my ass, so I take off for a bunker and some civilian contractor was literally whimpering to himself as we waited out the shitstorm. That was early into it too, damn!

I have alot of catching up to do here, you guys are going to be my best link to the goings on back in home while I work this shit over here for awhile. Saint, what made this Halloween the best in years?

I made it down to Austin for a week. We got in on Halloween night and stayed through til the following Tuesday. I actually dressed up for the first time in years, I was a Turnbull A.C. We also were there for the second annual Fun Fun Fun Fest, saw so many great bands (and a couple of bad ones), hung out with a bunch of friends I haven't seen in far too long as well as my long lost sister who just had a baby and has a husband I had never met before. Fucking fantastic time.

Again, very glad to see that you're safe and back with us here, at least online.

Again, thanks everyone for everything, it means more than you guys will ever know to me. My unit and I are doing well, no casualties as of yet and only a few hairy encounters. there are some real fuckin nasty stretches of road around here with nicknames like blood alley, killers row, ied alley.....you guys get the picture. It was nice, when we first got here we went a whole week with no CF deaths in the whole country, unfortunately that streak has been broken.
