The Johnny Cash version of "Hurt".
I don't know about better, but The Ducky Boys really tore up "Razors in the Night".
Well, its this place where nobody works, and the pigs don\'t give you any shit. Everyone smokes weed and gets drunk all day. Its a place where
cunts like me and you can truly take it easy and relax. Know what I mean?

I'll give you this..... GNR covers usually sucked. But this one is far and away better than the original in my opinion.
Its not like I'm saying that Pearl Jam did a better job on "Sonic Reducer". But the Dead Boys version of "Ain't It Fun" came across as half baked
anyway compared to some of their other tunes.

don't think there's much on there that's below the rank of GREAT. Of course, I think I'd rather listen to dogs puking than GNR anyday, but whatever.

There's a reason why that is the Dead Boys album that is out of print. It's not bad.... its just not the perfection of the first one.

Ring of Fire- Social Distortion. Blasphemy I know but I can't stand Johnny Cash's version. But I do like his cover of Hurt.

| Out of print? I see that record all over the place, not to mention there being multiple versions of it out.
Regardless, the very worst thing anyone associated with the name Dead Boys ever released is too good to be fucked with by any member of GNR.

The replacements version of "Black Diamond" is much better than the original (Kiss).

Also, the Dead Boys take on "Tell Me" gives the original a good run for it's money. And while it's debatable which is better- the Nomads did a pretty
strong rendition of the Lyres "She Pays the Rent".

It was unavailable for years. I just looked it up now and it appears that "We've Come For Your Children" finally got a proper release in November of
1999.
In all fairness I hadn't heard the original in years so I dug the CD out tonight for another listen. The song is brilliant. But this is one of those
rare occasions where I feel like a pro drummer and a better guitar player improved the song. The rest of those songs on that GNR cover album were
pretty lifeless in comparison to the originals but this one wins out in my opinion.
I guess it doesn't really matter though. It was a flop for both bands so its like arguing over who is the bigger loser. But that tune should have been
a mega rock hit.

"You can't put your arms around a memory" by Sheer Terror. Much better than hearing some junkie singing it.
Not sure if the JT version or The Bruisers version is better... "Don't you... TRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY" I might have to side with JT, though I do
love The Bruisers.

Fair enough Mark, glad you checked it out again none the less. I'll always rate the Dead Boys as one of the best bands ever, not to mention the
epitome of classic American Punk.

They are metal/grindish type band that is on Relapse Records. They have been around since 1999 I believe and feature ex members of Kiss The Cynic.
Their drummer Dave Witte is in Municipal Waste and Melt Bananana. Soundtrack To The Revolution is far and away their best material IMHO.
