Why are Hardcore show pictures always blurry?

I dont' get it. Why are they always (most of the time) blurry? Is this done on purpose? Am I missing something about this style of picture taking? Just doesn't make sense.

It's supposed to look cool I guess. I always wondered that myself.

Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

I'm jsut not a big fan of it. I think it looks shitty. Maybe if I had a band page I would just go a different way.

at first i thought it was cause of a stupid digital effect they put in,but im sure sometimes it may be because of movement, but not sure.

just take a look at the papers
your leaders
they\'re killers
they\'re liars
what they do in your
name to make the bodies pile higher
the murders, the terror
they\'ve done it forever
as we sit band and smile
at the script they sell us
but now the victims, they\'re rising
their numbers\'s multiplying
they want their revenge for the years
that they\'ve been dying

It's due to, lights, movement.
That's what happens, naturally that is, when you take pics at a crazy moving hardcore show.

I think it looks awesome...the colors!!! but I get sick of photos from shows unless they are REALLY good but there are way to many amateur photographers out there doing shows... its lame.

And hardcore videos tend to be kinda... ok.
They are usually too dark to make out anything.

A tip to anyone recording shows, taking pics - dont just focus on the band, focus on the crowd (responding) because after all that's half of the show.

taking pictures at a live show is tough. depending on your skill and your camera, you'll get very different results. there's either...

a) the full flash blowout. point and shoot and get what you get. these photos don't usually convey much action because the quick shutter speed freezes everything.

b) the no flash. since the flash isn't illuminating anything, the camera is dependant on whatever light there is in the room. if there's not a lot of light on stage, everything is a blurry mess. if there is decent light on stage, it can look cool. these we both taken with a point and shoot digital with no flash:

c) the artsy-blurry shot. this effect is achieved by using the flash, but leaving the shutter open for a short time longer than the flash requires. the still part of the pic is what is recorded when the flash goes off, the blurry bits are recorded wile the shutter is still open, but there is no flash. i happen to like this style a lot.

If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.
