Your favorite movies
I'm looking to find something new to watch and thought this could be a way of finding something good. What are your 5 favorite movies and why?
Mine:
Aliens- My favorite movie of all time. It had everything. Action, horror, suspense, comedy, etc. It's a movie I can watch over and over again and
never get tired of it. Michael Biehn's character, Corporal Hicks, is still one of my favorite characters ever.
Star Wars: A New Hope- I like all of the films in the series to varying degrees, but this one is number one for me. A great story, cool characters
and special effects, it was huge in all ways.
Goodfellas- While there are several great mob movies, (Casino, Godfather, etc.), this one is the one that stands out to me. I love movies based on
real events, so this appealed to me right away. I've had a fixation with the mafia since childhood, so I love seeing some of the real stories come to
the big screen. Pesci, DeNiro, and Liotta were so good in their roles that they really brought the story to life. Some classic moments like Pesci
asking "am I a fucking clown to you" always stick with me. I hold this as the benchmark to beat for mob movies.
Heathers- I love a good black comedy. I find darker types of humour more satisfying personally, and this particular flick is still one of the best
for my money. I loved the concept behind it, and Christian Slater and Winina Ryder were perfect in their roles.
The Usual Suspects- Amazing cast, cool plot, a lot of twists and turns that kept you thinking, a fun fucking movie. Plus I'll watch damn near
anything with Gabriel Byrne in it.
Honourable mentions:
Romper Stomper
American History X
V For Vendetta
The House of Yes
‘Do you know what a love letter is? It’s a bullet from a fucking gun. Straight through your heart.’

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original) - I guess I just love Leatherface and this movie is the best representation of that character
in my opinion. Plus the way it was filmed, the grittieness of it and the overall look of the movie just make it look like something that really
happened.
Star Wars (A New Hope) - Just has some of my favorite scenes of all the Star Wars saga. I love all the stuff on Tattooine, especially
the Tusken Raiders and all the stuff in Mos Eisly. I also love the character of Ben Kenobi and I think that he is at his best in that film rather than
seeing his younger incarnation in Episode I-III.
House of 1000 Corpses/Devils Rejects - I know this is two movies, but I'm putting them together because I want to! I love both movies
and I think they go very well together even though they are very differant. I think the characters of Otis, Captain Spaulding, Baby & Tiny are all
great and I would really like to see Rob Zombie do something along the lines of a prequal to show more about the history of them.
League of Their Own - Yes the movie about the all female baseball teams! At the begining part of the apeal was that Gina Davis was
super hot in it, but after watching it a few times just to see her I really started to like it. I think its a cool story and a nice document of an
interesting part of history.
American History X - I wont lie... I'm always intrigued by anything involving nazi skinheads. In addition to lots of skinheads this
is another really character driven movie with a good story. My favorite part of the whole thing is when Seth (Ethan Suplee) is driving the van singing
"My eyes have seen the glory of the burning of the zoo, We washed ourselves in niggers blood and other mongrels too" and when hes at the Vinyard house
picking the black jellybeans out of the bowl and throwing them on the floor.
Honorable Mention
Chasing Amy - My personal favorite of the Kevin Smith Askewnaverse films.
Clerks I/Clerks II - Amazing characters and a great way to tie the sequal to the original and update the characters while staying true to the people
they were in the first movie.
Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade - Sean Connery is as the father is great. Hitler signing an autograph for Indy is hysterical! Its a great trilogy,
but this is my favorite of the 3.
Saw I, II, III, IV - These are some crazy character driven movies! They are mostly known for the gore and the crazy traps and torture aspects, but
they all tie in together so well that its like watching a confusing mystery movie! I want to sit down and watch them all back to back one of these
days.

DONNIE BRASCO - it's based on a true story....and I think Al Pacino is fanfuckintastic in this movie
GOODFELLAS - what can I say,the greatest gangster movie ever.
THE OUTSIDERS - this one has been a favorite of mine since I was a young un....it kinda reminds me of my old neighborhood and the shit we used to get
into...dirt poor and roaming the streets looking for trouble.
TRUE ROMANCE - this movie has everything...good actors, action, romance, violence and comedy. The scene in this movie between Christopher Walken and
Dennis Hopper is prolly the best in movie history.
SNATCH - funny as fuck and awesome characters...and great one liners.

Almost Famouse - I can watch that movie over and over! Thats one of my favorite Jason Lee roles even though hes not the star.
Snatch - Best apearance of Brad Pitt ever!
Goodfellas - Im not a fan of The Godfather series. I tried to watch them again recently and just couldnt get into it, but Goodfellas on the other
