eBays 'Make an Offer' function...

Ive used this a few times over the last week or two and its crap! One guy had it set up so that it would refuse every offer automaticly until you got to the lowest he would take (which was THREE DOLLARS less than his buy it now!) and a few other peple have refused my offers and countered with an offer thats .50 cents lower than their buy it now price.

What the fuck is the point?! All they are doing is wasting my time and their own time. Make the fucking price your lowest sell price if its going to be a few dollars differance and fuck the offers!

I used that feature when I was selling my Bose 321 system last month.....and I got some retarded offers.....but I also sold it that way when someone finally made me a decent offer.

i think that's the fatal flaw with it...
buyers are looking for a super discount, sellers only want to give a minor one.

i only used it once and rationalized that my offer was what the item historically sold for on average on ebay. seller wasn't havin' in. he relisted the same thing at the same price four times - no one ever bid.

If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

I think I was being rational, but one of the things was a USED DVD and the guy was trying to get practicly what it sells for new in a store. The other thing was a shitty 'We Bite Records' comp that I only wanted becuase it has a Slapshot song on it. Hes messaging me telling its OUT OF PRINT and RARE... its NOT rare and its out of print becuase it sucks!

Be careful with that thing cause a seller can make a counter offer and if you aint around to deny it, it will just go ahead and charge you if the auction ends. Fuckin happened to me with something.
