I read it and have a few problems with it, but what you're talking about isn't one of 'em. It's pretty well documented that Hard Core started on the West Coast and was followed shortly after by the East Coast and Midwest with small scenes popping up all over in random cities. Do you have some other history that nobody else knows?

hmmm, did you read the whole book? there's chapters on most of the significant hardcore scenes of the day including boston, new york, midwest, texas, etc. as far as black flag goes, give credit where credits due. they were the first hardcore band to tour every shithole town across the country, which was the main reason alot of those smaller scenes sprung up in the first place. despite the fact that middle class had the first hardcore record (another cali band, and one that doesn't get near the credit they deserve), flag were the most influential of the first wave.

what are you refering to exactly?
what is it that you dispute?

steven blush was there
he was one of the biggest promoters of hardcore shows during this time period
he knew all the bands
delt with all the bands

tell me what you disagree with exactly

you come at the king....you best not miss

Irony = A documentary about hardcore in the 80's when it was fuck everything & DIY coming out in 2006 on Sony classics.

Obviously I'll still be watching it, I just think its hilarious.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

BAD BRAINS
Live CBGB 1982
Music Video Distributors
MVD98 - Sep 12, 2006
DVD: $15.15 :: Pre-Order
(ships Sep 7, 2006)

INFO: This breathtaking performance displays why Bad Brains became one of the most important bands in the history of American hardcore. On Christmas eve 1982, Bad Brains began their three-day stint at a hardcore festival hosted by legendary CBGB. This DVD represents the very best of these shows, culled from over 4 hours of footage. Their live performances were legendary, their visual recordings were impossible to find. Now, for the first time on DVD, that powerful performance is revisited in extraordinary fashion.
