the airbase is is a weighted metal and plastic stand with a built-in extension cord for apple's airport express.
the airport express, which i've had for a few years, is a wireless router that includes an audio-out jack. it's meant to plug directly into a wall,
but that doesn't work for me. i use mine to both extend the signal of my main wireless router, and stream audio from itunes to my stereo, therefore,
i've had it laying on it's side on top of my entertainment unit. unfortunately, the weight of the extension cord i was using kept pulling it off the
top and behind my tv, so the airbase was the perfect solution - it's heavy, has a built-in extension cord, and holds the sirport upright for a better
signal. all that for 6 bucks.
