Explain a float? Its a beverage with ice cream in it. =)

This in particular was 22oz of Double Chocolate Stout on draft with a scoop of vanilla. Chocolatty, stoutty, creamy and Delicious.

Went to Memphis with the wife last week stopped at a place called The Flying Saucer, near the Beale St fiasco. Draught house with like 90 premium and imports on tap. I had read in beer magazines about beer floats before but never pursued it. They had one on the menu so I gave it a try, would definitely do again. Besides the fact that it was probably my daily caloric intake it was pretty amazing. Also would recommend Belhaven Scottish Ale if you get the chance, had more than a few gallons of that.

That sounds kind of nasty. Chocolate stout itself sounds gross to me, let alone adding ice cream to it.

Ahh The Flying Saucer...my buddies have several Beer World Tour plates up in that place.

What'd you think of Memphis?

I believe it was youngs, I would think any stout would do though as the chocolate is not that prominant anyway.

Memphis was ok, could have done 2 days instead of 3, hit beale, the rock and soul museum, the zoo, graceland and just basically took pork naps for 2 days. rendevous was good q, i actually think I liked 'pig' on beale a hair better, their rub had a touch more sweetness, plus there were more beer options than rendevous' michelob. also that one tap room place on beale had a killer 80's stoner jukebox which helped kill a couple hours. was loving flying saucer though, quite the beer selection. i think beale would have been more happening during summer, but that also may have been too crazy too.

downtown reminded me of downtown Gary with more white people, its like the wild west, vacant storefronts, tumbleweeds...see the gentrification is rolling in though with all the condos going up.

It was cool that all the cab drivers were black though instead of indian because they all had awesome conversations, especially the one that started talking about the midwest mafia and its relations to casino, haha.

I tried double chocolate stout from the brookyln brewery. Absolutely the worst beer I have ever drank in my entire life. And I've drank some real shit in my day.

i don't like anything brooklyn brewery makes.
too bad.
when i lived there, we used to go to these happy hour tpye parties they have at the brewery - outside with booze and food and whatnot. just never liked the booze.
