it all comes down to the math. cds are less expensive to produce and ship, and are sold more widely than vinyl, thus making available more money to
put into other releases. i should note that we are by no means anti-vinyl; we often license rights for vinyl releases to other labels.
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

i COMPLETELY understand this concept, BUT, if you put out records onvinyl, you can also appeal to a broader audience, i know peope that dont buy cd's,
and i completely understand that yall license stuff out, such as the new ramallah 12" to TBTC, and the final plan/my luck split that martyr did(who is
putting out PALE HORSE who has a split with UNDER ONE FLAG on my label, www.straydoghardcore), i was just curious about all that, becuase alot of
labels do extremely well off of vinyl only releases.

He is correct. There are way too many vinyl-obsessed douchebags in this city.
But I'm not anti-vinyl, I just buy select vinyl releases. I don't feel the need to get every single thing that comes out.

I love vinyl. If I have the choice to buy the same record on CD or vinyl, I choose the wax. I like the sound my 15 year old record player gives off
compared to my cd player. Plus, its cheaper to buy. Most bands sell a Lp for like $8 where as a CD is $10-12.

cool as aids: Does your label actually press records? Pressing records actually is hardly profitable at all. You're lucky to break even when doing so.
I am certainly not anti-vinyl(I have a huge collection and mostly buy just records) but when it comes to the stuff we're doing at Thorp, it's just not
feasible. Bridge 9 can do it because the youth crew stuff always does alright. Epitaph does it but they never make profit on it. They do it just
because they have the money. I'll tell you the majority of tough guy hardcore, metalcore, and punk rock is not pressed on vinyl, which is where Thorp
is at right now. I hope that sort of answers the question.

i completely understand that, but i am not pressing HUGE amounts of records at a time, i am halfway to breaking even on preorders alone, so i am not
worried about any of it, soon i am gonna put out a cd so i can continue to put out vinyl. but as far as bands like b4b, madball, ramallah, slapshot
go, their vinyl has always sold fairly well as far as i know.
