The Offical 10 Best Breakdowns

I guess this person is an expert of some sort.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFCaP44pGrM&feature=related

There's some decent ones on there I will admit.

Enjoy. Also, there are some other "official" posts as well.

good thread, but this requires a lot of thought.

I'd heard of All Shall Perish and Suicide Silence (never heard em) and only heard of xAFBx from that straight edge documentary on NatGeo. Haven't heard of any of the others. I find most of that music to be super boring minus a few here and there.

I made it through all ten, but every one of those bands chug donkey cock and have nothing to do with hardcore or breakdowns.

I got up to the band picture for All Shall Perish, and after reading the video intro I wonder if dude knows what metal is. Hardcore is better, fuck off metalheads...and then All Shall Perish? :duh:

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Yeah, that seemed way bizarre to me as well. Of course, I recently noticed some shit on Amazon where some dumbassed kid was talking about how he was a huge fan of HC because he was all about Linkin Park and how he checked out Minor Threat because they were called HC in the description and yet to him, they weren't real HC. I had the simultaneous urges to flatten this idiot and to scrape my jaw back up off the floor where it had fallen. What the fuck is wrong with kids nowadays? They all think they can apply a genre name to whatever music they like and completely disregard what that genre has been about for longer than they've been alive.

i don't think that this kid knows what a breakdown or good music is.....

i don't know about who's guys, but to me a breakdown is in the middle of a song somewhere, not at the beginning, those are called intros.........
